I guess by now you've noticed that I spend a lot of time writing about food in my blogs. I'm not usually so obsessed with food, but there's just so much good food in Europe that I can't help writing about it. Well, Zurich is going to be no exception for one reason... chocolate. But I'll get to that a bit later.

Zurich is slightly trendier and more city-like that Bern, but still a great place. We started our 2 days here by taking a free 90 minute cruise on Lake Zurich. I love Switzerland because we get so much free stuff with our Eurail train pass! The cruise was great with very scenic views over the countryside, but the highlight for me was passing the Lindt chocolate factory on the edge of the lake! We only passed it, didn't go inside or anything, but it was still very exciting.

It cost us 40 Swiss francs for 31 chocolates, but it was worth it!

After the cruise finished, I was craving chocolate and had read about a famous chocolate store called Sprungli, so we stopped off for a hot chocolate. It wasn't like the thick hot chocolate we tried in Spain, but it was still delicious. More like Max Brenner in Sydney. Then, we bought a box of chocolates to take away with us. It cost us 40 Swiss francs (about AUD$50) for 31 chocolates, but it was worth it. Best chocolates I've ever tried. We figured we'd been saving so much money with all the free stuff we'd been getting that it really wasn't so bad... well, I figured so anyway. We finished the day by taking a walk through the old town where we saw many attractions including the biggest clock tower in Europe.

The next day, we decided to take a day trip to see the biggest waterfall in Europe, the Rhine Falls. There musn't be many waterfalls in Europe because we were surprised to see it wasn't that big... but still impressive nonetheless. Following a track you can get right up next to the waterfall and practically touch it. We also got a quick boat ride across the river. We then went to check out nearby Schaffhausen, a cool medieval town. We visited the Munot fortress and wandered through the old streets. It was a nice little trip!
