If you´re a pot smoking surfer-dude or a pot smoking old hippie surfer dude, do I have a great vacation spot for you!  Tamarindo Beach, Costa Rica!  Here, you can buy a weed pipe in nearly every souvenir store in all shapes and sizes.

Since Brian and I are NOT pot smoking surfer-dudes or pot smoking old hippies, it wasn´t really the place for us.  The beaches were ok, but not fantastic.  The ocean looked dirty, and if we didn´t have malaria yet, we certainly must have it by now with all the mosquito bites that were endured over our 3 night stay.

The highlight of our stay was the giant plate of nachos we shared during our first evening.

I wanted to put my ass right next to them and take a picture, but there were way too many people in the bar.

We were confused by the clientele of Tamarindo, because everywhere we looked we saw new construction of huge condo buildings advertising their spaces starting at $500,000 USD - and that´s not even beachfront!  What pot smoking surfer dude is buying that?  Yet when we walked around town we never saw anyone that appeared ¨well heeled¨ by any means.

The highlight of our stay was the giant plate of nachos we shared during our first evening.   Advertised as ¨Nachos as Big as Your Ass¨, they did not disappoint.  They were quite sizeable, but on the Anne Hallgren Nacho Rating Scale¨, they achieved a strong 7.0 (out of 10).
