Dec20th- all saints day- we got a blackforest cake (sore baught but it was good)

Aust won the ashes and it was a pretty big deal around here (maybe it was just a big deal for Erica who is slightly obessed with cricket, Im not so sure about this sport yet)  I got a pretty cool quote out of a book that Im reading.... maybe its not a quote but Im not making it a quote=="I guess you cant tell how big things are when your right in the middle of them".

I learnt two things today one that aussies get kind of pissed when you call them koala bears cause (#2 thing I learned) they are not bears just koalas. And something thats been .... almost bugging me the word "heaps" not a word that I think any Canadian I know ever uses- but here EVERYONE uses it, maybe just people my age. but its like of like LOTS..... "its heaps good" " thats heaps cool" I think its funny and the girls Im working with think its funny that I think its funny- its a word that they dont even realize they are useing anymore.

Dec 21- Dinner out with everyone from work. we went to an "offical" Auusie pub- nothing much different then a normal returant. and it was quite a good time hanging out with everyone in a different surrounding of work. It was really good to get out and ..... yeah everyone eats stitchzal  here its like the most thing gotten off of the menu.

I got a song for you- I thought it was the coolest thing since sliced bread- its so fun.

Auusie Jingle Bells

verse-

Dashing thru the bush,

in a rusty holden Ute,

Kicking up the dust,

Esky in the boot,

Kelpie by y side,

Singing Christmas songs,

Its summer time,

and I am in my singlet, shorts and thongs

chorus-

Oh Jingle Bells Jingle bells

Jingle all the way,

Christmas in Austrila on a scorching sumers day,

Oh Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells

Christmas time is beut,

Oh what fun it is to ride in a rusty holden Ute.

(if you need any interpretations about words just let me know :))

Dec 23- I found the best thing here- a chick at work has an old Aussie geographic where they did an article on DOGSLEDDING on snow too. so now I have dates and know the main area where they hold races and hopefully tru that Ill find connections to train with someone (cause in training they use the carts that I want to see) Im very exciting.

Micheal brought his unicycle to work today to "show off" hes off to Brisban to a folkfestival where they r going to show off their skills at a skate park, hes meeting a bunch of people there. sounds like fun.  lots of the guys I worked with tried to sit on the unicycle- so funny.no I didnt try I knew Id never have the chance of sitting/ balancing on it.

Dec 24+25- we thought we be done work ch eve and I didnt mind working and the girls didnt ither as long as we were done by 5pm. but they never finished picking so guss what i get to do on boxing day- pack more cherries. I should be grateful for the work. Not like I have anything else to do up here in the hills (until the 28th that is :) so Ill work. today is christmas day and Im going up hiking to see a cave- only a short hike. the cave is just accross the rd and is whre the first stone in SA became a house- so its a man made cave but then the ock got too soft otherwise they would have mined the whole Hill. then Im guessing Noleens kids and relitives are commin over, people stop by all the time and just hag out- sh made a ton of food yesterday and I think shes hoping that they will come over.
