Hey,

Flew out of Auckland at 7.30pm and arrived in LA at 10.30am so i had a bloody long day ahead of me. Flight was good, didnt make the most of the free alcohol as apparently the US customs will deport anyone with a visa who gets off the plane drunk! Watched 'click' and 'the omen' and then tried to sleep, which didnt happen.. When we arrived i headed through customs, where the most depressed people i've ever seen were working (not a good mix as they all had guns). After I got through I met Jessie at the gate, and we drove over to Orange County. We met up with allison and nichole and had some food at a resturant in a huge shopping complex. Had a gd catch up and tried US beer, a hefferwiezen (real big in the states). That arvo I hung out with nichole and we checked out her flat and a bit of the OC. Nothin like the tv show hah. That night we went to the Yard Glass in a fancy part of town. This place was awesome, there were over a hundred beers on tap from around the world and i had my first american meal which was huge!! By this stage i'd been up about 40 hours so i was ready to hit the sack when i got back to the house.

Monday 27th

Slept in at nicholes till round midday.. LA is really hard to get around and i would of had to take about 4 buses (not kidding) to get into town.. Apparently their main station is in gang central too so bad idea to try get there. I was talkin to some aussies who didnt know this and they managed to get off at compton (largest crime rates in the us) by accident.. needless to say they got off and there we're 10 black guys starin them down so they gapped it back on the train.. aussies eh..

So i hung out with the flatmates and nichole came back early from work. Dropping cars off i got a chance to drive the streets of LA which was interesting. Nichole says i nearly hit the curb a few times bein on the other side but i dont think so :) They had some other weird rules like at a red light you are allowed to turn right giving way to the other cars.. And at a stop sign i didnt even begin to try and figure it out. I just drove when it looked gd hah. Apparently its first there first out, but if others are there you go in a clockwise direction?? nuts..

So once we dropped off the cars we grabbed some good ol fast food, tried dr pepper (weird) and then headed into downtown LA stopping to look over the OC on one of the mountains (one of the pics). Had a crash tour of hollywood by car which was gd, saw all the theatres, tom cruises scientology church, the stars, beverly hills, bel air, visited a huge music shop called amoeba that is like real groovy but way better.. Got another thrice sam.. After that we met up with colin and jessie at a restuarant near UCLA and got more beer ive never heard of awesome pizza and some biscuit icecream creation. After that nichole and jessie had to leave so i went back to colins apartment. This place was wicked, up the top of an apartment building living with 9 to 14 people with a crazy view. We proceeded to get very drunk on rum and beer playin foosbal, guitar, and managing to decorate the place with a heap of decorations at the same time. Fireworks appeared from somewhere and we let them off the deck of this place, awesome! The hours blurred and we headed to bed about 3 i think.. Me and colin both set our alarms for 5.30 as i had a flight to denver at 7.45am in the morning..
