From LA we flew 12 hours to Fiji which gave us enough time to make up on all the lost sleep.
Arriving in Fiji we jumped straight onto the FeeJee Experience. The F.E. is a set of tour buses travelling around the island allowing you to hop on and off over as many days as you wanted. Each day the bus took us to different parts of the main island where we stopped to do various activities and stopped over for the night in provided backpacker accomodation. The activities ranged from sand boarding, hiking, river rafting, waterfall climbing, visits to local villages and schools, and visits to other smaller islands. Similar to the Yosemite Park trip we met some more excellent people.

After the F.E. finished Rich and I, plus some others from the F.E. decided to go back to some of the islands we stopped at from the F.E. There I advanced my scuba certificate going to depths of 50m, going inside a massive ship wreck, and spotting sharks. And of course seeing some of the most amazing corel reefs and tropical fish in the world. Also on the island i took up kite surfing which is an awesome but exhausting sport. Getting dragged across completely flat, crystal clear water was incredible. It wasnt so incredible when the wind changed and your stranded out too sea! The island itself was only 4miles wide and didnt have much in terms of entertainment. But thankfully to my ipod and its 8000 songs (Stu you are still a legend) each night we had good times either chilling out or drinking Fijian Bounty Rum - a potent 50% white rum with the other islanders.

We visited two other islands which were the party islands of Fiji. At both we watched amazing sunsets over the sea and stayed up late round beach bonfires with music echoing around the mountanous island. Bumping into people from the F.E. it was good seeing them again which resulted more drinking games and late nights.
After the islands we went back to mainland to the Nadi Bay resort hotel to prepare ourselves for our onward flight to New Zealand. Although a backpackers hotel it had the facilities of 4* hotel including a relaxing pool. Whilst at the hotel we shared stories and books with other travellers gleaming knowledge about our next destination.

Leaving Fiji was extremely difficult as we had met some great people round beach fires and I'd learnt a new crazy sport which wouldnt be the same elsewhere. However after putting our flights back another week we thought we really did have to move on to the next country.
