We got the bus to Niagara and walked across the Rainbow Bridge into Canada. Met our first unfriendly person at the border.

Niagara Falls on the American side were pretty impressive but the famous horse-shoe falls are on the Canadian side. There was hardly anyone there, which was good, but it was really misty so hard to see a lot. We went on the 'Journey behind the falls' and stepped right underneath the falls which was amazing. A lot of water!

We read about the first person to go over the falls - a female teacher (And her cat!) in a barrel! Also read about a small boy who fell out of a boat and ended up going over too, poor sod! It gave me the heebie jeebies thinking about it.

The area is full of casinos and built up plastic yuckiness which is a shame but we avoided those until we got back to the American side, where we had a while to wait for the bus. I hit the roulette and came out $1.75 up! Woo!

Polly lost her visa waiver form so we had a bit of a rigmarole at the border trying to get back in. He questioned us on what we were doing in the states and once again finger printed. They're so hot on the whole ID thing and fingerprint, that you'd think they'd have a central system with our fingerprints from NY airport on it?! Maybe it's all a show.
