gotta be quick here since i am spending a third of my daily budget on this. excuse spelling & grammar errors. i cant type. the last few days i have been travelling in the back of a mega land cruiser, totally outfitted for africa travel. daniel, the canadian, asked the dutch couple, sylvia & casper if we could ride with them up to namibia & so we are. spent a day near springbok, a diamond & copper mining town, just in time for beautiful wildflowers. then headed into namibia & stayed in a hot springs resort last night. beautiful huge swimming pool of HOT water, i  spent a several hours in it, it was great. saw fish river canyon today & now we're in a total shithole town, seriously nothing but dirt here. at least there are lots of black people and no whites, cause i was starting to think that southern africa is all white. the places we have been camping- caravan parks, are kinda like home- the retired people go camping, bringing their satellite dishes and such and they're all white. so i am feeling a little more like i'm in africa now.

we have spent hundreds of kilometers on long, staight, desert roads, where we see a car an hour or so. a lot of time for me to think. crazy to think that all of my collegues are back at school and in in the middle of who knowswhere- i am thinking about home, though, and still a little homesick. i constantly remind myself taht this is such a good experience and will in the long run strengthen me but occasionally lonliness does set in. good practice, though, to just be with myself in each moment.

this is everywhere!!

not sure how long the dutch will put up with us- we are really doing it a day at a time- the rule is no plans. i know i have to be back in jo'berg by oct 15 or something, but thats all the plan i have. so many options. travelling in a private car is pretty luxurious and the people are nice so far.

so thats the latest. sorry i havent written more cause i have a lot more to tell but like i said, budget, budget.

love to all.

Hill, When adam and I sailed to Hawaii, I wrote a "word of the day" that summed up what we were feeling for that day. Even though one of the words was "never again" (tecchnically 2 words), I would do it again -salt spray, stress, loneliness, and beauty. I Love you Hillary and Hope for your future. The theme of Burningman this year was Hope and Fear. I vote for H0PE. Love, cindy and glenn p.s. max's 10th Bday was today at Heart's Desire. Bittersweet. Max had a lot of fun. Miss You!!!!!!!!!
