Got here after a long 14 hour journey from Santa Marta, near Taganga.  The bus driver had decided to put the air conditioning of the bus on full blast so it was quite a cold journey......and an expensive one, as transport is generally more expensive in South America than in Central America (also because of the larger distances), and because prices of accommodation and transport sky rocket during the holiday season.

My first day was spent travelling on the metro (Medellin is the only city in Colombia with a metro train system - it´s one of their prides), and the cable cars.  I also went to Pueblo Paisa, which is an old colonial village in town.

On the second day I was there, I visited the city centre and the Museo de Antioquia, where I spent a good 3 hours admiring various works of art (paintings and sculptures), some of which I loved, and others I hated.  That night (Thursday) was a big one out in the Zona Rosa in town........Medellin is well known for its party life!!!

The next day was spent sleeping (went to bed at 5.30am) and then relaxing in front of the TV.  Left that night to head off to Cali.
