Plaza de Armas in Santiago is nothing special to see, and similar to many plazas in Santiago,  but it was on the way to the Pre-Columbian Museum.  It was a short walk and metro ride from my hostal...which was good since I was recooperating from my horseback ride.

I also took a pic of the local Justice Court. (see photo)

Some observations I have made since in Chile for a week;

Chilleans are generally friendly and helpful.

Stray dogs everywhere.

Eating out- you often do not get waited on promptly and you often have to ask for your bill.  However, you do not get the feeling you are being rushed before or after your meal like you often do in the states.  Chilleans often eat late 7-11pm.

The general overall feeling is relaxed even in the big city.  "Chillean time-no rush"

Chile is a horsey country-city or rural.

The local fountains in plazas you will find children and adults wading/swimming in (yuck!).  See photo.

THE TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM IS EXCELLENT BY BUS AND METRO (SUBWAY).  US CITIES AND STATES COULD TAKE A FEW TIPS FROM CHILE.   Maybe our streets would not be so congested if we had a better system.  Even Europeans are impressed with the transportation (Of course, they have the train system moreso in Europe than Chile).

Hope you don't end up in the Justice Court for anything official!
