Second time to Japan (11 to 16 Dec'2000)

My second time to Japan, my friend went for business trip to USA and she flow over to Japan to meet up with me.

Kyoto a quiet place not for me.

As it was my second time there, so I was trying to cover other place, so we went to Kyoto. Kyoto is nice place but not so busy area.

As we were in Japan for only a few days, so we cover Toei Movie Land in Kyoto, is a place where the Japanese film are made and film here but the day we were there, it was so silent, no one was there, there were only a few souls walking inside exploring.

Inside Toei Movie Land, since there were not many people around, I took out my digital video cam, place it on a table and start to film my own story to have some fun on our own. Is like little children playing their toy, I used what they have display at the cafeteria, my friend will act like a customer and I act like shop keeper, I had my film roll for a few minutes, now that look back, it was funny.

At the Tokyo train station, people stop by to buy food, stand there and eat their meal.

I don't know why there was not many people in the Toei Movie Land that day, may be it was winter so is cold and nobody will visit the place. After having fun the whole on our own explore, we went back and try to explore other area in Kyoto.

Due to it was very cold; my friend keeps on want to look for a place to have a cup of hot coffee. So our time spent most was drinking hot coffee and shopping inside the shopping center. If I would to travel alone, I'll never spent too much time drinking coffee and shopping but may be Japan has not much extraction around but shopping.

As we were spent in Kyoto a few days, we decided to go to Tokyo; we stay the same place, the Japanese style hotel.

As my friend likes to do shopping and I had not been to Tokyo Disneyland, so we depart our own way to explore. She went for her shopping whole day and as for me I went to have fun. (15 Dec'2000)

Tokyo Disneyland ticket is not cheap; there have different type of tickets, which you can purchase it, so I had bought a General Admission ticket, which cost me Y3,900 to have some fun inside. Every thing you want to play was to queue for it, no joke; the most excited one was the longest queue. I had play most of it, accept some the queue was too long; I didn't want to wait for it.

If you ask me how I feel about the Tokyo Disneyland, well, I would say; it will be better if they have English sign and English announcement. All you could see and heard inside the Disneyland was in Japanese language was a bit difficult to understand and miss some part of enjoying.

Which part I didn't enjoy it, it was the Haunted House, the staff, Japanese lady was saying something to scare us but I could not understand her (she spoke in Japanese language) so I was not afraid at all, no fun.

After I had so much fun playing in the Disneyland, I took a train to explore to another side of Tokyo, I went to a place have a lot of shopping area and food mall, I found this place very interesting, so I went back to the Ryokan (Japanese style hotel) to look for my friend, hoping that she will be back from her shopping. I could bring her there to shop over there and have dinner together. I waited for very long in the Ryokan, my friend didn't come back for me to go dinner; I went dinner on my own. We should have made an appointment to arrange for dinner but that day when I was out of the room, she was still at sleep.

Overall, my second trip felt not fulfilling trip, I believe I could cover more places in Kyoto but I didn't.

Well, been to Japan twice, is very likely I'll spent so much money to go there again but one place in Japan I would very much like to visit is Hokkaido. I don't know when and who I'll go with but I'll have to save enough money to go.
