Une Balade Nocturne Sur l’Erdre

Not much of a story here, but at least there are some pics to view!
This evening was a peaceful walk along the Erdre, a tributary of the Loire River. Yves, ever the best host, invited me to join his gay social goup (le Petit LU) – okay, first I should mention that Nantes is the origin of the factory that creates the Petit Ecoliers chocolate cookies. The next thing is that although this group has a religious component, one is not obliged to participate in anything Catholic. So, okay, most of them knew me (about me) since they had heard so much about me already – and I knew this, and was nervous about what they already knew/thought about my life, etc.
to be the American curiosity
Being French, they were a bit late and I was twenty minutes early. I thought it was a hike, but the condition of some of the elder members lead to a quick realization that the pace would be adjusted. The walk was so peaceful, just following the slow river north on the east bank, crossing a bridge, and stopping for a picnic. We had our picnic time, followed by a sharing of an article written by a heterosexual female in support of homosexuals using some parable as proof (impressive to see a non-homo working in support)(and the French do say homo without any negative connotations) of her thesis for equality. The walk on the west bank commenced and yes I was able to follow most conversations. It is inevitable, but sometimes it gets irritating to be the American curiosity, and to be criticized – or at least have the US criticized. I prefer when people just talk to me about me – as I am not a true representative of my country. Anyway, the night was nice, very nice people, and a simple end.

Oh – so my sandwich was potatoes, hard-boiled egg, tomato, cooked chicken breast, and vinaigrette on a baguette! Yummy! (You know I love my eggs! I love egg . com!)
