We spent Monday driving up the coast of Maine and got as far as Rockland "The Lobster Capital of the World"! The trip up the coast was wonderful, we had beautiful weather - no humidity and great sunshine. We drove through the cool town of Kennebunk and Kennebunkport, which were really cool. We then ate lunch in the town of Cape Porpoise and had the best clam chowder of the trip at a local cafe.
We actually do not recommend staying in Rockland - we wish we would have kept driving north on the coast to Rockport or better yet Camden where the little sailing town is located. The Tradewinds Hotel was pretty dirty and the town was empty - so unless you are going for the Lobsterfest, we recommend you keep driving....
