We got off the plane from the galapagos, and after a week of having everything done for us, all of a sudden we needed to make our own arrangements! Chah...

So we walked to the bus station, saving a $1 fare and getting a lot of sweat in return (Guayaquil is very hot and humid) and went to book ourselves a bus to Vilcabamba. The plan was to have a look around for a day or two while we finalised the plan for getting to Peru. We arrived in Loja at 2am, and went straight to sleep, then caught a bus the next morning to Vilcabamba and we were there by the end of the morning. First things first, we needed a place to sleep that night, so we headed for the closest hostel to the bus station. Again!

We bumped into Cathy and Lindy when we were having lunch. What a coincidence! They had done the more intelligent thing and flown to Loja from Guayaquil and were fresh, although we did need to shout their names a couple of times to get their attention. Of course actually getting up from the lunch table would have been unthinkable...

We went for a walk the next day to a waterfall, and, shock of shocks, found it! Had some snacks and then back to town to see the aussies hostel, which was very nice!

The next day we went for a short walk to an ecolodge park thingy... it was interesting, and we walked for about thirty minutes then back home for an early night in preperation for the massive journey planned for the next couple of days...
