Today when we woke up it was raining. So we decided to take the main road to the next town. First we took the freeway for a good long stretch till we reached a town called Mañura. From there we took the path. It was so muddy, we had about ten pounds of mud on each shoe. It was slippery and insane. We decided to take the highway again. Then we saw the path and it looked pretty good so we climbed off the highway on a concrete flood channel and onto the path. Got to Estella, there is a lovely church with terrific carvings. We walked right by the Albergue because it looked too nice to be the public one. A lady kept insisting we go in so we did and from the price realized it was the municipal one. Only three euros a night and 1.5 for breakfast. Really nice room, took one by the heater and started washing out our clothes. Did internet and then made phone calls. Used the whole thing up and everyone was teasing us saying we must own the phone company. Sat around shooting the breeze. The woman who runs the place, Patricia, is really sweet and nice.

Mud up to the knees
