As you can see we had a few problems with our plans to travel from Dublin, Ireland to Paris, France that is why this in in the Spain column and not the France column. Anyways here is what happend. Our plane from Dublin was supposed to take off at 7:15pm but after a lenthy delay because of "mechanical problems" we got off the ground to on our way to Paris. But our troubles didn't stop there went we got to Parsi airport and gathered our things we were informed by the hotel finder desk that there wasn't a hotel to be let in the whole city. Well we should have listened to him but we took a cab into the city and looked for a hotel. We tromped around Paris until one in the morning and then we finally decided to sleep in the train station and catch the next train out of Paris (which wasn't until 7:00am the next morning.)

It just so happend the the next train was to San Sebastian, Spain, just past the French border on the Bay of Biscay. San Sebastian could be described as a hidden jewel. It is not the most known about as other Spanish tourist spots such as Madrid and Barcelona but it was the perfect rest stop on our hectic travel itinirary. San Sebastian or "Donastia" as the locals call it is the perfect mix of modern Europe and old Spanish culture. With it's quaint narrow streets and small tappas bar on one side of the river and new fancy stores and hotels on the other. And you cannot forget about the beaches, miles of picture perfect sand with warm water and waves ideal for beginner or pro surfers. San Sebastian is a treat for all the senses.
