I went out for quite a few meals, drinks, parties and expeditions with friends, famiy and housemates before departing. A big thank you to everyone for helping to organise these events and most importantly for coming to see me off!

The first was a night out at Sapporo Teppanyaki in Manchester with my wonderful housemates and pub quiz team buddies! It's a fantastic resturant and I'd definatley recommend it for a fun and tasty night out. You all sit around a hot plate while an expert chef, prepares your food and entertains you with his mastery of chopping, dicing, flipping, spinning and setting things on fire. Which was nice.

Next on the leaving event calendar was a family get together at Go Ape! in Northwich with my Dad & Celia and step-siblings Tim (fellow RTW traveller), James, Shari & Stella and Becky. Go Ape! is basically a assault course 20 feet up in the forest. Tarzan ropes, Zip wires, suspenstion bridges et al. Much fun was had by all and most importantly no body broke anything. I'll hopefully put some pics up here if my kind father can send me some :)

Friday night was - as far as I was concerned, a couple of drinks in town with my housemates, no one else seemed up for a night out. Bit dissappointing on my last friday night out but there you go. However, upon arrival at Centro though I was greeted by a veritable throng of mates all awaiting to surprise me! All in all, there was around 30 peeps out to wish me well on my travels! Thanks guys and a special thanks to Soph, Katie and the other ringleaders for making it happen! (Ben / George have you got any pics?)

Saturday saw the annual pilgramage to Edinburgh for the comdey festival attended by season vetrans Matt and Myself and newcomer and tag-along Ben (only kidding). Another great night and definatley one of the best. We went to see the Ron Mueck exhibition the following day which was amazing and I'd recommend you take a look if you get the chance!

And finally, the night before our departure, we had a huge leaving meal at La Tasca in Didsbury. It was a great night out and it was great to see everyone together one last time before we headed off. Thanks to Kirsty for being offical photographer for the event :) If you can get any of the pics to me that would be great!

A huge thanks also to my wonderful mother, who cooked me a fantastic farewell meal, took me out for lunch and allowed her home to become a dumping ground for all my worldly belongings! You're the best!
