Veliko Turnovo used to be the capital of Bulgaria. Also this town is the centre of the region (oblast) where my hometown, Pavlikeni belongs to.
The hills of the town are separated by a serpentine river. If you go through the ancient street, you get on the top of the hill on which lays the old castle, the Tsarovets - from which there is a beautiful panorama to the whole town.
It is also the town of the university students, with lots of entertainment facilities, bars, pubs, discos and shops.
