We were pleasantly surprised to discover that Perth has a really nice zoo.  In fact, in zoological terms it's apparently an important one.  It's definitely not the biggest zoo in the world mind you, but it's not just a petting zoo either.

Being the big kids that we can sometimes allow ourselves to be, we enjoyed our day out with all the animals.  Our favourites were the kangaroos, the crocodile (absolutely massive and scary!!!), the orangutangs and the gibbons.  Remember those stuffed monkey type toy creatures that had the really long arms and velcro hands that you could make them give you a hug??  Those are gibbons.  They're really cool.  We wanted to take one home as a pet.  The orangutangs were pretty funny too.  One of them just sat there against a glass viewing wall playing with himself  (not solitaire).  It was cute to hear little kids refer to the "monkey that was doing dirty things".

T'was a fun day out.  Y'all should get out there and marvel at the weird and wonderful creatures that we get to share this planet with.

Adios for now,

Michael & Heather
