Portal, AZ

We've already written a lot about Portal and Rodeo, so not much new to add.

I do need to retract what I've said previously about Silver City, NM though. We had been there a few years ago (as a part of our great quest for the perfect place) and didn't like it much. We went back on this trip and really liked it. (Among other things, we ate at a fun little cafe and went to a killer gourmet shop, the Curious Kumquat.) It could have been our outlook or maybe it's changed over the years. Anyway, we were happy it seemed more appealing, especially since it is one of the "big" towns within a couple hours of our new home.

We take back what we said about Silver City.

We also visited Bisbee again. It is pretty much how we remembered it (fun to visit; wouldn't want to live there).
