My flight from London to Madrid was good. I got a whole row of seats to myself so I was able to lay down and sleep which was nice. I am one of the few people who brought two suitcases. A lot of people actually brought that backpacking backpacks.

The hotel we stayed at was in the center of town and was actually on a street that was inaccesible to cars. The room itself was nice and even had a balcony. I shared a room with Emily and Dani, the latter is my roommate in the homestay.

The first day we just walked around because people we still arriving and API treated us to dinner. I wasn't adventurous and just ordered chicken curry. The second day we visited the Prado Museum and el Palacio Real. It's crazy to see painting from textbooks in real life. EL Palacio Real is considered the third most elegant palace in all of Europe. All I have to say is I wonder how it's possible for the other two to be prettier.

On Friday we took a bus to El Escorial, which is an extremely old monastery. It's just a amazing building and the scenery is gorgeous. In the afternoon, I went to EL Museo Reina Sofia with two friends. It's basically a modern art museum and had a lot of Picasso drawings and paintings. We got a student discount of 3 euros but didnt stay long because I didn't feel well.
