Hervey Bay is supposed to be where the humpback whales go for their winter holidays and tomorrow - Thursday we're going out on a whale watching trip to find out if it's true!!

Oh my god!!! what an amazing experience.............. we booked on a 10.5 metre sailing catamaran that only takes a maximum of 25 people, one of the smaller boats doing the trips and one that goes out for a full day for the same price as te larger boats that only do half day trips. We got so close to the whales you could almost reach out and touch them and because the boat was small you were seeing them at sea level and really felt part of the environment.  The whales seemed attracted to the smaller boat and had no hesitation in swimming up to the boat to check us out and then hang around around giving us a show for half an hour.
