White water rafting at Wenatchee was a pretty good trade-off for a mixed group beginners to rafting. Couple of us had done some challenging rafting trips while others had never been on white water and didn't know swimming. This level 3+ rapid was a perfect mix of thrill without actually flipping. We spent about 3 hours traveling 16 miles on the river. Apart from some calm zones, we passed some pretty wild rapids.

The day started early. We rafting trip was scheudled at 11 and we were about 3 hours drive away. We packed all the camping gear and food and bags into the trunk of 2 cars and we had lot more than initially anticipated. Thngs barely fit. After some engineers spending al ot of time at most efficient packing, we were on the way. The drive was interrupted by a tire burst in my car. After having to drive from the left shoulder of a highway to the right shoulder (helped by a cop) and then hcanging a tire, we continued along. Fortunately we had some buffer in the time.

We got to the destination and changed into the wet suits provided. Ten we were taken by bus to a starting point where after some safety talk we were on the way. The starting point was actually in Leavenworth, just outside of the town. Our guide was fun, he had a lot of stories to tell and kept us entertained. There were some huge rapids but we somehow managed to keep the raft straight. At the end of the trip, we were greeted with some pretty nice food, which was included inthe trip. The experience, the scenery and the food were all amazing.
