WOW!!  What a HUGE plane - should said Air Bus!!  Ok, for those of you that have traveled internationally, especially to Japan, you'll have to bear with me & my details.  I want to share this fabulous experience with everyone, especially the ones that have not been to Japan.

As I was saying, AIR BUS!!!  I'm seated in Row 41 Window Seat A.  There are 10 seats across.  (3 seats/aisle/4 seats/aisle/3 seats)  I'm not sure how many rows there were, but I would say at least 55.

Creepy Crawlies & Germs

I almost always choose the window seat.  I enjoy looking out, seeing cloud formations, seeing the terrain (plains, mountains, water), etc.  Probably obvious why I like to have my camera with me:  CAMERA + WINDOW SEAT = FABULOUS PHOTOS!!

The following disclaimer must be posted....I apologize ahead of time if my blog offends anyone in anyway.  It is simply meant to be an entertaining view of my experience on this trip.  Please forgive me for not being socially or politically correct.

Ok, back to regular scheduled blogging. . . . .

As I'm sitting there watching the assortment of people board the plane,  I'm thinking wouldn't it be wonderful if no one was sitting in the middle seat?  The girl in 41C & I could share the extra space.  SWEET!

NOT!!  Darn!  A young Japanese man sat in between us.  No big deal, my slight touch of claustrophobia will hopefully not overcome me in the next 14 hours!!! GULP!!!

(reread disclaimer above)

It only took me a few minutes to notice that my neighbor in 41B had some white stuff in his messed up hair.  Ok, so I tried not to stare, but I was starting to get a little creeped out.  What if it was LICE?  UGH LICE, I don't want to deal with that again (not me, but my boys had it last year).  Anyways, I stared sporadically for several minutes to try & determine if any of the white things were moving.  They all appear to be stationary.  So it's either dandruff or the lice are already dead!

I then realized that I was sitting as far to the left as I could get in my seat!  Body language will give you away.  I repositioned myself in the center of my seat, while still eye-balling the hair.  Be aware of flying dust particles, they may be lice in disguise!!

It gets better, he starts coughing...repeatedly!!!  Coughing in this small space, the space that we will be sharing for the next 14 hours, can't be very sanitary!  OMG!!  I'm going to be ill!! I wouldn't call myself a germaphobe, but I'm very aware of the germ potential @ this point.  I see him digging in his bag.  He opens up a fresh face mask - kind of like the ones that surgeons wear.

Cool, he'll be keeping his germs to himself!  I ponder this for a few moments.  Is he afraid of spreading germs or getting germs?  Is he carrying some sort of contagious airborne disease?  I know they didn't check my health records or ask my doctor if I was germfree before I boarded this plane. Oh well.  I'm hoping that my immune system can withstand the millions of germs that I'm probably breathing on the air bus today.  (I pray for the germaphobe parts of my brain to go into hibernation when I travel - this is very important for my sanity!!)

Have any of you ever paid attention to how many times you put your hands (one or both) up to your mouth, near your mouth or even in your mouth???  HOLY COW. . .I do it way too much!!  MUST STOP TOUCHING MOUTH!!  I need Greg's Lysol Spray Forcefield!!

nice...I always combine them into 1 container, you know...5 of the high blood pressure pills, 5 of the anti-anxiety pills for the 5 days I travel. Just takes up less space and weighs less. I always put them in my carry on so I have them and they've never even taken a 2nd look! Guess I've been lucky! (I figure if there's a question on if they are legal...they can call Walgreens!)

kristine are you telling me you plan to be awake on the trip? I wish I had known you were going... my atrongest advice would have been drugs baby. When I flew to China, I was the only one awake the whole darn time! Drugs, I'm tellin' ya. Of course, they must be in their original container or...

Roxee/Lynn: I slept a little, but I don't sleep well w/ strangers next to me. Besides I had to keep an eye on "itchy scalp". On the drug subject, I'm always afraid to put them in the same container because what if the rub on each other & form some sort of lethal compound that will kill you?
