The next morning we headed back down the Rejang river by boat to Sibu, we were glad we weren’t going back to Kuching by boat but in the other direction to Miri about 7 hours away by bus.

We only spent one night in Miri because we weren’t raving about the big cities in Sarawak, we decided to spend our time in places of interest where the concrete, logging and palm oil plantations had not reached or were not allowed to reach. The only real reason for us to come here was to get a permit and flights to Bario & Mulu National Park.
