We were up bright and early today and got ready for our jeep safari. Neither of us had been on any kind of 'safari' before so we had no idea of what to expect. By the end of the day we were pleasantly surprised with the adventure we had been on.

We started out at the hotel and were amazed at the size of the wheels on the jeeps, Ivan told me that they were big to allow the drivers to let some air out if we came across areas that were more difficult to cross.

The sights, the remoteness, the color of the skies it was all so overwhelming and beautiful.

3 jeeps set off and soon we were in the country side surrounded by nothing but mountains snow and ice and amazing sight, I have never experienced a country where the sky was so rich in color, oranges reds yellow and purples it was truly amazing.

We came upon a lank and the drivers decided to have some fun with us poor passengers and into the lake they went (they all had snorkels attached to the engine so no fear of us cutting out) it was great fun chasing the other jeeps up and down the lake. We stopped and got out to take some photos

The day progressed nicely and we saw some hot springs, which is really amazing all around there is snow and it is -4 and yet you could feel the heat coming from the water. The smell of sulphur was not too pleasant though!!

We had should an amazing day. I would recommend anyone going to Iceland to go on the jeep safari it is by far the best way to see more of the unreachable areas of the island.

The sights, the remoteness, the color of the skies it was all so overwhelming and beautiful.

We got back to the hotel and had a bit to eat and again to bed early for another early morning.
