Re: EFI, not sure this is right, but the tour d'afrique website uses this term to describe participants who cycle "every fabulous inch". I've assumed "EFI status" means they distinguish between participants who've cycled the whole way vs those who haven't at certain stages and/or at the award ceremony at the end of the trip.
