Our last two days were spent relaxing in our room in Kolkata though we did go once for a long walk. I guess that was because there was some serious rioting going on by Muslim fundamentalist youths who thought that an Indian politician had insulted Islam, needless to say we decided against rubber necking. Kolkata, as it's now called, seemed to have some nice old buildings from colonial times and as we walked past the high court we saw judges and lawyers entering and exiting in full robes and horse-hair wigs.
We really enjoyed our time India but at the same time it was a difficult country to travel in. I would definitely recommend anyone to go there but not as stress reliever from work, more as an adventure. The funeral in Varanasi could be read as an analogy for our month in India, maybe it's not really fun every minute but there a certain sense of achievement having survived. Like doing anything hard it's difficult at the time but when you succeed you feel like you can do more have gained something form the experience. Farewell India and hello Cambodia! Angkor who?
