Jameson is Awesome!

Well, another fun week of class and Cork! We went and saw some more live music locally. Friday, Sarah, Liam and I took a bus trip out to Midleton, to the Old Distillery where Jameson makes their amazing whiskey. It was a quick 20 minute bus ride from the bus station in Cork. The town of Midleton was bigger than I thought. We were expecting just the distillery. We got to the Jameson Distillery, and the area was impressive. The tour was great too since we got to see the original buildings and process from when the distillery first opened in the 1800's. They now have a new facility next to the old one, but we were not allowed in there. So, the tour was great, and the pictures will show some highlights. Then, at the end of the tour, they have a taste testing in the bar where Liam, Sarah, and two other people got to compare Jameson and other Irish whiskies to whiskies from around the world. The rest of us got a free cup of Jameson. Jameson is good anyway, but even better since it was at the distillery. Liam and Sarah did the taste testing and got certificates as well. A lot of people did not finish their whiskey samples so all three of us decided to have a little extra before taking the bus back to Cork. During that experience, I was so tempted to purchase the 125 euro bottle of whiskey they make which is aged between 18 and 25 years!
