Queenstown, New Zealand the place for the world’s first fulltime bungy…how could I resist?! Before arriving in Queenstown the Stray bus stopped off at the Kawarau Suspension Bridge and I got my first view of a bungy. Throwing yourself off a platform while only attached to a rope at your feet…crazy! Before I knew it I had made a pact with the rest of the gang (Hannah was sensible and didn’t cave to the peer pressure!) and I had returned the next day to jump off the Kawarau Bridge. I even signed up for the option of dunking myself in the water during the 43m jump.

Everything kind of snowballed and I ended up signing up for two more bungies. The second was the 47m Ledge. Apparently this is a “fun” bungy so to take away the nerves we decided to dress up – a running man, the matrix and of course a super hero! The Ledge is the only bungy which you can run off because you are attached around your waist instead of by your feet. The idea is that you are supposed to propel yourself forward…I ended up running and then dropping like a stone. Not exactly the perfect superhero take off!

So two down and one to go…now the big one. The Nevis is the third biggest bungy in the world…137m down! I am not entirely sure I can describe the range of feelings I went through before the jump, how many times I doubted I would jump and how AMAZING I felt afterwards. I can honestly say that I have never felt so energized and proud of myself. I did it…jumped 137m!!! Just wait until you see the video!
