- We headed off towards Pisa first thing in the morning. A relatively easy trip even with a bit of a crappy day outside. We drove around for ages to find a legal park until we realised we shouldn’t care too much as the Italians don’t! We parked up and set off walking towards where we thought the town centre was- nope… in the wrong direction completely. Stupidly but excitedly we weaved in and out of the tiny little streets, through a traditional old market and then found ourselves at the square. Where the series of beautiful old buildings stood. The tower of Pisa, the Cathedral and Dome. We were amazed with the tower; it was surreal to think we were actually there. We then headed into the cathedral. Beautiful and well looked after with stunning finishing’s on the roof, doors etc. The Romans really pay attention to detail. After our site seeing the fun began. Where the hell did we park the car??? We literally had no clue! So we traced back our steps one at a time. Quite funny really. At least one of us pays attention (have a guess!). We stopped in to have a coffee before we headed off. Kev’s first real Italian coffee- heaven!! We then headed to Florence where by late arvo we got stuck in traffic and couldn’t find our first camp. Eventually we found heaps of other campers so we parked up with them.
