So this is our first blog before we head off on our travels. Today has been lazy and relaxing complete with bacon sarnies being eaten to try and ward off hangovers from the night before (see the inevitable decline brought on by pints and pasties in the attached photos).

Last minute bits and pieces are being organised...Simon is about to head up to Tottenham Court Road to get his malaria tablets (special ones that help you get a tan apparently..) and Tracey's about to head to Wimbledon to get a Huia Crosby special potion for food poisoning which is apparently much better than Imodium (squelch). Lets hope customs and excise don't have a problem with the ingredients...

The weather is typical London duvet grey which feels fitting as out last day in England. Hopefully the weather will improve once we get to the continent.

The first challenge of our journey is to work out how to get from Putney to Waterloo tomorrow morning. We really want to get the river boat which feels a fitting start but the timetable is not playing ball so it might be a much more basic form of transport such as taxi (Tracey can't carry her backpack, and we don't like public transport...although that may have to change :)  )

Sad to be leaving everyone here in Old Blighty, but very excited (and a little nervous, but don't tell anyone) about the adventures ahead.

Hopefully the bubbly on the Eurostar tomorrow morning will keep us smiling.  First stop Paris, quick change of trains then on to Geneva.  We have treated ourselves to a nice hotel for the first couple of nights (costs the equivalent of 2 weeks in India) to break us in to this travelling lark gently.  The accommodation standards drop fairly rapidly after Geneva (although not too far - big NO to dorm rooms - this is 'flashpacking' not 'backpacking' you know).

So goodbye everyone and see you all back here soon.
