We trekked over to Poland and specifically Krakow to visit the famous Auschwitz death camp from WWII. Go figure, we go to visit the ruins of a WWII Nazi death camp and come across a lively beautiful city packed with historic buildings and stunning streets and plazas. I can easy say Krakow is a highlight of our Europe experience. Not only did we get moved up from a dorm bed to an amazing new apartment for the same price, but we found in Krakow everything a tourist would want. History, beauty, entertainment, great cheep food....everything. We loved it and were horribly sad to go. So sad that we extended our stay by one more night.

It was absolutely freezing in Poland but the Fall colors where breathtaking and Krakow was full of promenades and parks to truly experience the splendor that is Fall in Poland. Our visit to Auschwitz was accompanied by a expecialy freezing and windy day...I think it just made the visit that more real. Auschwitz was as you could expect horribly depressing and sad. The organizations have done an amazing job with the museum, it really was an experience of a life time.
