We are anchored in a beautiful lagoon surrounded by big mountains reminiscent of the Halong Bay karsts in Vietnam – very jagged but with very rich vegetation. The water is incredibly beautiful with many shades of blue, turquoise, aqua, etc.
When the tender arrived on shore we were greeted by musical islanders. It was hot and humid. We walked along the coast until we came to a beautiful resort. This was our first time that we saw the bungalows built on stilts above the water, so very typical of these lovely islands. We were allowed to “take a look” inside one of them. Part of the floor was glass and you could see the water and the fish below. Each bungalow had its own ladder so you could just dive right into the water to take a swim. We sat by the beach. We are told that these islands are very expensive and that these island bungalows cost at least $2,000 per night.

At the pool feast last night we met John and Nancy. After conversation we learned that they were from Hudson, Ohio, another small world experience. They were good friends of Pat and Tom Dillon, Nancy Beukenkamp’s parents.
