We went to the city of Trapani to use it as a base for day trips, other then at night, we spent little time there.  But it was a nice city with nice buildings and architecture.  They had many events going on while we were there, they had the Cous Cous festival where restaurants from around the area setup booths of various types of cous cous (yum).  And of course there was other food and sweets and live music, it was kind of like the midway at the State Fair of Texas, but just lined up along the ocean, and cous cous was the main attraction.  They also had the celebration for the Patron saint of the city as well (alberto - I think).  Lots of stuff going on.  But most importantly, Trapani is a port city which gave us access to visit the Egadi islands.  The islands were Favingnana (half of the island is mostly flat, making it perfect for biking - which we did), Levanzo (the smallest of the islands, with a cave that has paintings in it from 6,000 to 10,000 years old made by the relatives of the guy from the Geico commercials), and Marettimo (the nature island - thought to be the original Ithaca and home of Odysseus)
