Hola! Okay...so there is a huge line for the computer in our "hotel" so Im just going to post the main highlights. I´m alive. Our flight to Nicaragua was great except for a little turbulence at the end, when I practically flew onto my friend Lindsey´s lap. It is so pretty here though. Everything is green and you could see Lake Managua from the plane and some volcano! When we landed we all got our bags and met up with our director who is amazing. Her name is Aynn and she is very friendly and helpful and welcoming. We got in this bus that has probably been in use since about 1940, but it was fun. While we were driving there were huge billboards with Daniel Ortega´s picture on it, and they said "Aribba todos los pobres del mundo" which means Rise up all the poor people of the world. and then at the bottom it says more democracy more power. there are also casinos starting to spring up all around managua. they are like little mini Las Vegas casinos. When we got to Casa de San Juan where we are staying we had dinner and learned a bit about what we´re doing the next few days. We are doing mostly orientation stuff tomorrow, but then on Friday we are going to Leon. Supposedly in Leon it is even hotter than in Managua, but it is a beautiful colonial city. Managua is nice but it definetly has areas where to poverty is really bad. It also doesn´t look colonial since they have had to rebuild after the earthquake. Tomorrow I am going to look into getting an international cell phone so Mom and Dad and Jeremy...please look into how much it will cost you guys to call me. It should be really cheap for me to get one. Okay...I have to go change out of my pants I am roasting. I will call you guys the first chance I get. Te amo y te extrano.

J Bird...I miss you so much! I finished my jelly beans today, but I promise I will spread out eating the rest of my candy :)

Britt...I love you and have a good first week of school, tell Cole Hi!

I am the first up in the house (J-Bird and ECM are still in New Jersey), so I got to read this great news first! What an amazing start! We had a meeting of all winter/spring athletes in Rocky 300 on Wednesday afternoon and it felt like Managua in the room, so the SID cut his presentation short (stop laughing). I ran into Teal in the Retreat (thought she graduated?), had like a 45 minute chat with LPL today and will look forward to my last weekend off before all the games start (ugh) on Sept. 5. Love ya!
