The Magic Kingdom, Poolside, the Titanic and Mickey D's

Well, I forgot my camera, so I don't have any pictures, but the Magic Kingdom was awesome.
Okay, where did we leave off? This weekend, we rested by the various pools at the resort and decided we like the little one next to our building the best. Although there are no slides or lazy rivers, it is close and not very crowded. The weather has been in the low 90s, partly cloudy everyday. In the afternoons, it has pretty much been thundering and lightning. Actually it is quiet refreshing, and a good break from the sun. Andrea and Ted went on a timeshare gig and received a crisp $100 bill for their time. We decided to eat out that night with the money. Funny enough, the bill came to $101 including tip. The meal was great and Ted and Mike loved the fact that the beers were a buck.

Sunday we rested and Andrea made a Mexican feast for supper. It was awesome. Again, Mike and Ted needed to have some Coronas to get “in the spirit”… We tucked in early that night so we would be ready to go to the Magic Kingdom on Monday.
We arrived at 9 am – 1 hour behind my schedule – rats. However, we did manage to park free again, this time in the Polynesian Resort. Because we arrived so early, we managed to get on Splash Mountain and Thunder Mountain a few times in a row. That baby-swap thing really worked out well for the kids. Believe it or not, Brianna enjoyed both, but was not very “quiet” on Thunder Mountain.

We watched the fireworks from behind the castle this time, and it was spectacular. Fireworks in front of us and fireworks behind us. Some lit up as bright as day. Fun. We also watched the electric light parade, which was beautiful and long. Nolan waved to Mickey Mouse and blew him kisses while Raegan shook Snow White’s hand. It thundered and there was lightning for a short time, but the rest of the group managed to catch a show of the Tiki Room. I stayed outside with Nolan, who was napping. (I don’t like the Tiki Room anyways.) The Jungle Cruise was a bit odd, because we had a girl who was trying really hard to be funny. We didn’t think so. Ally insisted on getting a poncho for the rain because she hates to get wet when she doesn’t want to. She has been our little parking place rememberer and our scheduler and our map watcher. That’s what happens when you turn 10 I suppose.

We arrived back in the room at 1 am. Yikes. Then we all tucked in for a relaxing Tuesday.
Mike managed to miss his flight and had to stay one more night. He needed to stop at the grocery store for some beers after that stint. Ted went home and Andrea and I are left with the kids. We did some pool hopping during the day and hit Downtown Disney last night. That was only after seeing the largest McDonald’s in the WORLD! We seem to think it was also the dirtiest in the world… We shopped at Downtown Disney for secret “Mickeys” – similar to secret santas, and we all enjoyed our gifts. Ally was the mastermind, once again, behind that idea.

Today, we went to the Titanic Experience. Here, we learned about how it was made, the passengers, the different classes of rooms, the crew and how it went down. They brought us into a room that was as cold as it was that night. Very interesting, and well worth the side trip. Stopped at Cici’s Pizza on the way home. Can’t even count the amount of cinnamon rolls and brownies that the girls ate.
We tried our best to rest, but it looks like we may be headed for Universal tomorrow. We’ll see.

Hope you’re all well and enjoying my trip.
Take care,
