Feeling like a local
From Journey to Mexico in Mexico City, Mexico on Jul 05 '07
After I landed in Mexico City, I caught up with Sara. She had graciously invited me to a dinner party thrown my friends from school. I went to this modern apartment with great artwork and furniture and spent an evening conversing in Spanish. I had a great time. Thanks Sara.
The next day, we headed to Palacio National, to see my favorite murals painted by Diego Rivera. The History of Mexico depicts Cortes's vicious attacks on the Aztecs, the exploitation of the indigenous by the Church, and the robber barons of the poor. Spectacularly, he had drawn these pipes where indulgences are used to fuel the greed of the rich and powerful including Rockefeller.

Later, Sara and I went to dinner at this great Argentinian restaurant "Quebracho". I had cream of chile poblan, which was excellent as well as a salad and skewer of chicken. I finished the meal with flan.
