The day started bright and clear and we had a short easy walk left to finish our trek. From Chimrong there was a road but no cars or bikes, only people. There was debris from a recent landslide that reached onto the road at one point. Just before I reached it a tree branch dropped on the ground right in front of me. It was big enough to have given me a nasty bump on the head and gave me a bit of a shock.

The rest of the walk was straightforward and we soon passed through Birethanti (1050m) and arrived at Nyapul. The taxi tout didn't try to rip us off too much with an initial offer of Rs1200. We refused to pay that much and eventually got him down to Rs1000 which we had been told was a fair price. A bus would have been only Rs70 each but we were willing to pay for a quick and comfortable ride direct to our hotel.

Ten minutes into our journey the taxi driver started to apologise and then pulled over. He had ran out of petrol and went running off up a hill to try to find someone with some fuel he could buy. Not too long later he came back soaked in sweat with 4 old water bottles full of petrol.

Once in Pokhara we checked into the Sacred Valley Inn. It was recommended to us by the two Kiwi girls we had met in Upper Pisang. It is one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in and was only Rs400 per room. The rest of the day was taken up with shopping for a change of clothes so we could get our laundry done. I did my best to avoid looking like a hippie with my purchases.
