Though still not technically in Provence, we are in Cliousclat, north of Avignon, we are definitely not in New York!
We drove up here from Marseilles. It's a very small village; I managed to walk around it in 15 minutes while Jeff and Frank freshened up. It's very quaint, with narrow streets, houses with blue windows, hills and winding walkways. The scent of lavander and rosemary permeates everywhere. I saw my first "baci court" and could imagine old French men playing in older days. It's so quiet I saw one person during my whole walk. We definitely picked the right time to visit.

We went to the three potteries in the village and then decided to hang out in the hotel's courtyard overlooking the countryside. We ordered a bottle of Cotes du Rhone and spent the afternoon talking and playing with the village cat. Later on, Frank decided to take a nap so Jeff and I took a long leisurely walk.
We capped the day with a wonderful dinner the hotel was written up for - I had a courgette (zucchini) tart, beef with mushrooms, cheeses (awesome!), and ill flottante (floating island - also awesome!). Man, I was ready for bed. This is the life. Now I'm ready for Lyon.
