Texel, Netherlands - Day 48 - 49

OK...i really tried the in-the-middle-of-nowhere thing and i honestly have to say... I AM A CITY GIRL!!! so in my guidebook they suggested that i see Texel...which is the biggest of the Wadden Islands in northern Netherlands. It is suppose to be scenic...blah blah blah. I knew it was a bad sign right from the beginning. I went on a Sunday and it just so happens that they were fixing part of the rail that weekend. so my train from Amsterdam to Den Helder got split into 3 parts (train, bus, train). then when i got there, i was told the bus people were on strike...which means walk to the harbour. anyway, to make a long story short...it took forever to get to my hostel!! the hostel was nice...they shouldnt call it youth hostel...shouldve been senior hostel!! haha...i guess the island attractions are mainly for older people. so for the last 1.5 days, i really took it easy, didnt do much except for walked around the small town (maybe the size of St. Jacobs or a bit bigger), biked to another town called De Koog which is right by the beach. All and all...i wish i had gone to Antwerp!! hahaha! i was even thinking about going south to Antwerp that day when i left Amsterdam...oh well!! now after 6 hours...im back into civilization in Cologne! :)

But i am happy to spend 1.5 day to take it easy...i like doing nothing. there are many days (during school of course) that i wish i can just laze around and do jack! it is rather nice since its been a few big cities one after another...i needed this break! thanks Texel for being so boring!! haha
