Summary

Puerto Cruz has a lot going for it:

• Several well maintained parks in the city centre
• Excellent promenade which snakes through the business area and has fantastic views of the Atlantic Ocean.
• A beach with surfers made more exciting because of the jagged rocks in one area of the harbour.
• Many cafes and terraces for drinks and people watching
• Easy access to other parts of the island by bus from the conveniently located TITSA bus station.

Things against it:

• Can be a bit dull most visitors are older people and at times it seems like a rehearsal for an old person’s home. The contrast between Puerto Cruz and resorts on the south coast is very marked (they have the young fun loving set).
• Culture – there ain’t none (no concerts or galleries worth a mention).
