All the students arrived on time. Some came by bike, some walked, some took the bus and a few even drove. They are flying the Texas flag at school for us!
Their principal met with all of us this morning. He was very amazed by the size of the group. He was very greatful we were there and interacting with his school.
Then Anneliese Weieck and Heiner, took us on a tour. The American students want to stay in this school. They would bring it home if they could. During the tour, I spoke with all the students. Jonathon feels very short next to his host student - Kai but is having so much fun with him. Anna says that Katharina is just like her - only German. Amanda is amazed at the hopping birds in Winnie and Susanne's garden. Joshua and Heiner hit it off and have already stolen Alicia while Alexandros was in a class that she could not be present. (They were testing) I saw Arafel walking around school with at least 4 German girls just giggling. Alicia Hicks was in awe with her host Mom and sister. Juan is already practicing his Spanish with Florian. It is a very good thing that Michael has the camera he has. He has not stopped taking pictures since he woke up. I thought Kelsey did not make the morning meeting, she fit in so well with the Germans.
