After leaving the crazy streets of Hanoi, we headed for Ha Long Bay which is about 3 hours north east of Hanoi, Ha Long Bay is literally translated as "Bay of Descending Dragons". Arriving in Ha Long Bay we were greeted by a sea of awaiting junks. We boarded our boat which was ours for that day and night. As we left the hussle of the marina we were seated for lunch, the setting was that of a fine dining restaurant it was amazing, we were treated to a seafood feast of prawns, crabs, fish, calamari and chilled french wine to top it off. As we dined we motored through the thousands of islands of Ha Long Bay 1969 according to our guide. We stopped off at a small beach for a swim and steep walk to a temple perched at the top the island. After another glass of wine we left the beach and made anchor in a secluded bay for the night. Once anchored we were taken by sanpan (large dingy with bench seats) through a cave enterance in the bay which opened into a huge lagoon inside an island, absolutely beautiful, photos just don't do it justice.

That night for dinner we were again treated to another fine dining expereince, where more wine flowed, we were getting our fix after all the beer we had been drinking. After a spot of night fishing with a bamboo stick, Kev caught 2 very small squid we retired for the evening. We all had private suites which were awesome. The following day we visted Hang Sung Sot or Surprising Cave as it is known, what an awesome place it has 3 vast and beautiful chambers where they have lit up some of the formations. After leaving the cave we headed back to Ha Long Bay marina of course with lunch on the way returning back to Hanoi that afternoon.
