Calgary...Surprise mum!

Flew into Calgary at 1am in the morning, where the place was looking stunning! Lights everywhere lit up the freshly fallen snow all over the city!!!

Ennio & Bri were waiting to collect me from the airport, where we then devised our plan to suprise Shona at 2am with my arrival! Bri was on the doorbell, while Ennio got mum down, whose response to me walking in was 'WHAT ARE THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE?!'. She had no idea i was stopping by for a week! Enjoyed a cup of tea with the family, and even poor Mike who had work at 8am is up!

Day 1 - Wake up to the fresh scent of canadian pancakes and maple syrap wafting up the stairs! YUM! After breakfast, outside for snow fight and snowman making, haven't done this for about 15 years! Franco & Aunty over for dinner tonight...real italian lasagne with all the trimmings!!! YUM!

Day 2 - This morning godfather Ennio has his god daughters first communion. Church and then home to chill out and learn some canadian games! Tonight get taken out to dinner thanks to the De Santis crew.

Day 3 - Sleep in, then its Tim Hortons donuts & coffee for breakfast where else but by a beautiful snow covered lake. Janice (the tour guide) takes mum & i up to Bragg Creek and around the area which is just beautiful. Stop off at Elbow falls for lunch, then back home in time for mum´s pork chow mein! Yum!

Day 3 - Early start and its up to Lake Louise & Banff for the day. See recommendation on left for photos and blurb.

Next couple of days are spent just hanging with family and relaxing. One night went out with Ennio on a run from 11pm-6am. Was good fun touring through Calgary and seeing what goes on at night! Last night, i´m treated to my last roast lamb meal...which will be the last for a while i´m sure!

Day 6 - Its sadly all over...and time to head to airport again. Goodbye to family and off again, this time to New York...New York!
