After a long stay in Sagada packed with rugged outdoor activities, we ventured down to the big city of the north, Baguio.  It turned out to be a very interesting city full of arty college kids, a fascinating labyrinth of street markets, and as always a big, fat mall.  We were able to eat yet another meal of pizza, and had our first Filipino McDonalds (we are not proud).  We also found an adorable vegetarian restaurant, the owner of which nearly adopted us after a night of playing Cranium with him till our 1:30 am bus.

After an evening of wandering the night markets, seeing one reggae and one rock cover band in two separate bars, and several San Miguels, nothing is better than waking up to a parade outside your window.  What makes this even better is if it's a parade celebrating the world's longest sausage (nearly 5 KM!), in which thousands of culinary students march the streets carrying the aforementioned meaty delight.  None of us were brave enough to try a link (which they were selling on the street afterwards), but it certainly looked... er... noteworthy.
