With our first guests, Karin and Christy, arriving 2 days prior, we decided that it would be a good time to take in some of the sites that Scotland had to offer.
Karin, Christy, Graham(Megs' Cousin), Meaghan, and I set out in the early afternoon for Stirling Castle. It was about a 45 minute drive away, but it was through the countryside so it was very pleasant. I dont need to tell you that it was rather pricey for admission because everything over here seems to be. Needless to say we were not surprised at all that it was £8.50 a person, which is like $18 Canadian. Once you forget to convert into Canadian it doesnt seem as bad. Its taken 6 months, but we finally don't do it anymore.

The castle was a castle, what can I say there. Castles are amazing but they all contain the same things, The Great Hall, The Kitchens, The Church, Courtyard, etc. Its really amazing to think that these castles were, at one point, the only things you could see over a sprawling amount of land. What a difference now to look out over the walls to see apartments, blocks and blocks of houses, and roads connecting them all together.
As well as going through the Castle we were also able to see 'The William Wallace Monument'. Well, we didnt actually climb the hill to go into it, but we did get a pretty good view from the bottom. They wanted £6.50 to climb to the top. Like I want to pay to do something like the Grouse Grind! Not a chance my friends.

All in all, we were very tired after all the walking so we headed back to Dumbarton where I cooked a wonderful dinner, if I dont say so myself, and we relaxed for the rest of the evening.
