The Foz de Iguacu as it is known on the Brazil side...is beyond fantastic. Truly one of our earth´s spectacular phenonmenoms. To do the falls justice, it is imperative to visit both sides. I recommend the Brazil side first. It gives you a grand view of the falls. 256 to be exact. Its difficult not to take a million pictures. Rach was going snap crazy, with good reason of course. The Brazil side only requires a few hours of exploration.
The Argentina side gives you close up action of the falls and takes about 6 hours. The roar of the heavy water beating down below is unbelievable. You must live it to understand it. Absolutely perfect. There is also lots of animal life around the falls. On some of the walks it is important to keep your small kiddies close because jaguars have made little snacky snacks out of them in the past. Terrible i know.

The actual town of Iguazu isn´t very spectacular. Cute and quaint but nothing to jump up and down for. Except.....cheap cheap cheapity cheap food! Rach and I dined at an Italian restaurant and were treated like Queens! Best part, it only cost ten bucks a peice. It is for reasons as this that i am a big advocate of retiring outside of the country...better yet...go while you`re young. While you have the energy to embrace it all.
We did have a rough first day in Argentina. We got left at the border, couldn´t get money out of the atm, and all tickets to buenos aires were sold out because of easter. By a stroke of luck we got tickets by being at the right place at the right time. Eventually all things fall together for a reason. All in all, memorable stop.
