Day 4
From Europe 2008 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany on Apr 30 '08
Hello again! Well, today has been an exciting day. I almost missed my flight out of Berlin to Munich. Apparently, the bus drivers decided to go on strike this morning and I didn't know it. Luckily, I ran into 2 Canadian dudes and 1 girl from Oregan that needed to take a cab to the airport as well. So we all carpooled and split the cost. But I have definately learned not to rely so much on the public transportation. I just barely made it to the airport in enough time to check in for my flight. I literally had less than 5 minutes before you can't check in anymore.
The flight was semi-ok. It would have been so much better if I had remembered to take my dramamine. But in all the chaos of the morning I definately forgot. But thankfully I didn't get sick. I got my bag that I had checked and met Hannah at the entrance to the S-Bahn. We took the train into Munich and then caught the train out to Garmisch. It was so good to talk to Hannah since I haven't had anyone really to talk to in a few days. I mean actually talk to, not small talk with random strangers on tours.
We dropped our stuff off at Hannah's room and then went to grab some food. I got a "pancake" that is really a very large hash brown with mushrooms, cheese and tomatoes on top. It was delicious. Probably the best meal I have had that isn't American food since I got here. I have been just hanging out and catching up with Hannah. Checked to see who got voted off American Idol. Good thing it was't my favorite, David Cook, because he should win. I'm just gonna throw that out there.
I think the tour to the Neuschwansteinn Castle is Saturday, so I am going to wander around Garmisch tomorrow. Check out the bookstores, need to find the English section to get my British copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I think I am going to dump all the books I brought, they really aren't that great. I'm not really interested in reading old novels at the moment, and thats pretty much all I brought. I will just read some good old Harry Potter instead.
Ok I think I have written enough for this posting. I will write again soon!
