We left Port Campbell behind driving the rest of the Great Ocean Road to Warrnambool. We stopped at each of the scenic look-out points which were excellent. It wasn't the greatest of days (very windy and quite cloudy) - thankfully the photos came out well.
With the GOR finished we travelled inland towards the Grampians - one of the most naturally stunning things Victoria has to offer. After another long drive we arrived around 8pmish. The last 20 or so kilometres coming into Halls Gap (the center-point of the Grampians) was really interesting - either side of the road all the trees were burnt. It turns out there was a massive bush fire here in January of this year.
The Grampians were definitely worth checking out - we could have stayed a few more days here exploring..

Our hostel is really nice with a great ecological design. The only place still serving food was the Quarry restaurant. The mains were quite expensive but the food was really nice. We got chatting to the owner who lived in Vanuatu for a number of years. It seems like a really great place to visit with amazing dive sites. With Fiji currently undergoing a military coup it might be worth visiting.
The next morning we set out to do a few treks and discover what the Grampians had to offer. It was an extremely hot day but we covered around 7km by foot arriving at a great look-out point - Boronia point. After enjoying lunch, sitting on a rock about 300m above sea level, we headed back to base. Using the van we checked out MacKenzie falls which aren't huge but still worth seeing.

Around 3 o' clock we hit the road trying to cover as much distance towards Canberra. It's only when you do a trip like this do you realise the size of Australia. The Grampians were definitely worth checking out. We could have stayed a few more days here exploring. It's hard to capture the scenery on camera. Plus, there's a major bush fire happening at the moment - the smoke is affecting the surrounding areas, making the sky hazy and cloudy.
