So we left Las Vegas on Friday the 13th (!) and headed off to Death Valley via the Mojave Desert. It was amazing driving through the desert – just rocky and sandy terrain. The bit we saw was also quite mountainous. It took us quite a while to reach Death Valley because of the route we took but the drive was very enjoyable. Manoj did most of the driving but I did a little too! The scenery was just amazing. We stopped off at a few scenic spots (a dried up salt lake and colourful rock formations) but couldn’t stay out of the car long due to the heat. We just decided to drive as far as we could from there towards the Sequoia National Park where we wanted to be the next day and ended up in a town called Mojave at 9pm that night – that was a lot of driving for Manoj! We got a room in a proper motel (very exciting!) and woke up early the next day for our drive to the Sequoia.
